Accessibility

Accessibility Policy

At the Centre for Leadership Insight (CLI), we are dedicated to making our website accessible to the broadest possible audience, regardless of individual ability or technology. We are actively working to increase the usability and accessibility of our website by aligning with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Our Accessibility Commitment

We aim to ensure that our website can be accessed and used by all individuals, including people with disabilities or those using assistive technologies. Key aspects of our commitment include:

  • Keyboard Navigation: The website can be navigated entirely using a keyboard, ensuring that individuals who may have difficulty using a mouse can still access all the site’s content and features.

  • Screen Reader Compatibility: We ensure our content is compatible with screen readers, providing descriptive alt text for images, accessible navigation, and properly labelled form fields for visually impaired users.

  • Responsive and Flexible Design: Our website is designed to be responsive, meaning it adjusts fluidly to different screen sizes, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones. This ensures an optimal experience for all users, regardless of their device.

Areas for Improvement

While we strive to meet accessibility standards in all website areas, we recognise that some elements may not fully conform to the guidelines. We are committed to ongoing improvements and welcome feedback to help us achieve a higher level of accessibility.

Accessibility Features

  • Text Resizing: Visitors can quickly increase or decrease the text size by adjusting their            browser settings. On most browsers, pressing “Ctrl” (or “Cmd” on Mac) and “+” increases text size, while “Ctrl” (or “Cmd”) and “–” decreases it.

  • Colour Contrast: We use colour combinations that meet accessibility standards to ensure text readability, even for users with visual impairments such as colour blindness.

  • Accessible HTML and ARIA Landmarks: We use semantic HTML5 elements and ARIA      (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) landmarks to improve navigation for screen reader users and help them understand the page’s structure.

Browser and Device Adjustments

Everyone’s needs vary, and users can adjust their browsers or devices for an even better experience:

  • Screen Magnification: Use your browser’s built-in zoom feature (Ctrl/Cmd and “+”/”–”)      to enlarge content.

  • Adjusting Colours and Fonts: Many operating systems allow adjustments to font sizes, colours, and contrast settings, which can help users with specific visual needs.

For further assistance in personalising your device’s accessibility settings, we recommend exploring My Computer My Way, a resource developed by AbilityNet with support from Microsoft and the BBC. You can find it here.

Feedback and Contact

We strive to improve the accessibility of our website continuously. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions on how we can further enhance your experience, please feel free to contact us:

Email: [richardgraham@cfli.org.uk]

We aim to respond to all accessibility-related inquiries within five working days.

Ongoing Enhancements

CLI will regularly audit its website to ensure accessibility standards are met and maintained. As the digital landscape evolves, we will implement necessary changes to ensure our site remains accessible for all users.
